The Gutenberg Bible page with illuminated letter 1898
Beginning of the 42-line Bibel - Prologue of the holy Hieronymus or Jerome printed in the 1450s by Johannes Gutenberg.
The Prologus Galaetus or Galeatum principium is a preface by Jerome, dated 391-392, to his translation of the Liber Regum ( the book of Kings composed of four parts: the first and second books of Samuel the first and second books of Kings )
The Gutenberg Bible (also known as the 42-line Bible, the Mazarin Bible or the B42) was the earliest major book printed using mass-produced movable metal type in Europe. It marked the start of the " Gutenberg Revolution" and the age of printed books in the West.
