The statue of Liberty stands proudly on Liberty Island, formerly Bedloe's Island, in New York Harbour
Gustave Eiffel was the Structural Engineer of the Statue of Liberty and its Sculptor was Frederic Auguste Bartholdi. It was completed in Paris in June 1884, and presented to America by France in recognition of the friendship established during the American Revolution.
