(Original Caption). Violent Saturday in West Berlin...Thousands of East Berlin Communists staged the biggest post-war riot in the British sector of the city when they tried to break up a social gathering of former members of a German tank division in a beer hall. Several policemen were injured as the Reds, sparked by a propaganda campaign, surrounded the beer hall and threw tear gas bombs and bricks. The riot was in protest against the Paris treaties and for reunification of Germany. In the photo at left, two demonstrators throw up their hands to ward off advancing cops.
