(Original Caption). Visits U.N. United Nations, N.Y.: Emperor Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia is greeted by U.N. Secretary General U Thant (right) upon the former's arrival at the world organization here. The Emperor attended a luncheon hosted by the Secretary General. The 71-year-old ruler, in this country on an officical state visit, was given the city's traditional ticker-tape welcome during a parade along its canyons of steel. Later, in addressing the U.N. General Assembly, The Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah (one of the Emperor's four titles) recalled his 1936 appeal for help to the defunct League of Nations, which went unanswered. His country was over-run by troops of Fascist Italy in 1935 and occupied by them until the country was liberated by the British in 1941. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass).
