(Original Caption). Underwater Housing. Nice, France: Getting ready to be lifted aboard a ship in Nice, an underwater house built for eight is guided into place. The house, which is more than 30-feet across and 11-feet high, allows each of the eight men more than 100-square feet of floor area. It will be part of Commandant Cousteau's project, Pre-Continent No.2, under development in the Red Sea. The program is comprised of two phases, first to explore the depths of the central part of the Red Sea coral reefs and second, to study the behavior and health of the diving team living in the underwater installation for about six weeks. Other than the scientific equipment, the 25-man team on the oceanography experiment will be equipped with diving suits, underwater scooters and a diving bell, which will be housed in a submerged garage. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame.
