Three of the seven Mercury astronauts who are undergoing training in preparation of being the first American to venture into space are shown today at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's research center. The ride aboard a Redstone missile down the Atlantic tracking range is scheduled for April. A selection of the astronaut to make the trip will be made in the near future according to NASA. Left to right are: Alan Shepard, Jr. commander in the U. S. Navy; John Glenn, Jr. Lt. Col. USMC; and Malcolm Carpenter, Lt. Commander, USN. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang.
