Abernathy(l) motions in an attempt to restore order as he and other leaders of the Negro bus boycott receive a standing ovation from some 5, 000 persons jammed into his First Baptist Church. The eve of a Prayer-Pilgrimage Day which Negroes walked to work. Next to the Rev.is the Rev. E.D.Mixon and Rev. Martin Luther King is on right (obscured). The Rev.Abernathy, slated for arraignment the next day, urged Negroes not to gather at the court house, and to peacefully walk with God. All the 113 Negroes arraigned were released on $300 bond.
