Traditional Toyokuni Japanese Woodblock print of Geisha s
" A wonderful Ukiyo-e print by the master Toyokuni 1786-1864 was born as the son of a puppet maker. He learned printmaking as a student of Toyoharu. This print dates from 1837-9 and forms part of my own private collection of original woodblock prints. The image is of two women in a traditional Japanese women from the series 12 months, published by Minatoya Kohe circa 1800. One of the figures holds a puppet."
