The Albert Memorial in Kensington Gardens, London, which was erected by Queen Victoria in memory of her much-mourned husband and Prince Consort, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, who died of typhoid in 1861. It was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott in Gothic Revival style and was opened by Queen Victoria in 1872. From Albert The Good; Scenes in the Life of The Prince Consorta by Miss E.C. Kenyon.
