Aeneas and the Shade of Dido, a scene from " Stories From Virgil" by the Reverend Alfred J. Church, M.A. with illustrations from the designs of BartolomeoPinelli(1781 - 1835). Published by Seeley, Jackson & Halliday, London, in 1879. Dido is the founder and first queen of Carthage in Northern Africa, and is also known as Elissa. She falls in love with Aeneas but he leaves her; in her sorrow she ascends a funeral pyre and falls onto a sword which was given to her by Aeneas. During his journey through the Underworld, Aeneas meets her shade or ghost and she shuns him

16x12 Print in an MDF Wooden Frame with 180 gsm Satin Finish Paper. Glazed using shatter proof thin plexiglass. Frame thickness is 1 inch and depth 0.75 inch.
