Framed Print of Edinburgh

25th June 1928: Edinburgh, capital of Scotland. There is evidence of Iron Age settlement in Edinburgh and the old part of the city developed around the castle within the protective Flodden Wall. The New Town was begun in 1767 to create space for the expanding population and much of it was built in the Georgian style which was prevalent at the time. The city hosts the Military tattoo and the Edinburgh Festival every year and is a popular tourist resort. (Photo by Alfred Hind Robinson/A H Robinson/Getty Images).
